Trade Night Review
by EPCsecretary on Jul.23, 2010, under Club News
On Tuesday 20 July, 19 members of the Edwardstown Photography club were educated and entertained by the guys at Total Photographic Supplies, who showed us the studio setup and equipment for hire, the latest tool for cleaning those sensors, and a pretty nifty tripod, as well as attachment for speedlight flash units.
This was followed by a visit to Graphic Arts Supplies, conveniently located across the road at Kent Town, where we learned about the importance of monitor calibration, and setting the ICC profiles of the paper for the photo printer being used.

Our guest presenter for Tuesday 23rd March will be Joe Janko, who is a keen sports photographer. With the recent car racing event held in Adelaide he may have some great images from it.
This is a change to our printed program due to the unavailability of Ron Willems, who we hope to reschedule at a later date.
The Great Photographic Challenge, Sunday March 14
by EPCsecretary on Mar.12, 2010, under Club News
This is an annual event where club members gather at a specified place and are given a list of 8 subjects to photograph on the day. What’s the catch? Members can’t use their own equipment, but are given the use of a cheap fixed lens compact camera which is loaded with a roll of 24 exposure film. This is a challenge to see what you can come up with using the most basic of equipment. At the end of the day, all cameras and films are returned to Reg, who will arrange to get the films processed and returned to members at the next meeting. The idea is to choose the best shot of each subject to be entered into a special, fun, competition. The 6 x 4 prints are entered as is, with no re-printing or manipulating of the images allowed.

After satisfying the requirements of the set subject definitions, every effort should be made to use the highest level of artistic skill in all set subject photographs.
A photograph in a set subject competition which the judge feels is out of category will not be awarded any points and may be used again in another monthly competition.
